About The Event
We will be performing a short set at the Underground Railroad Juneteenth Art Exhibition in the Slatkin Gallery, 2nd Floor of the Myers Fine Arts Building.
There will be an art exhibit of Black artists including:
Reflections: Intimate Portraits of Iconic African Americans – General Colin Powell, Lois Mailou Jones, Dr. Dorothy Height, Congressman Charles Wrangel, and more.
"a process, a discovery": A celebration of Black artists in SUNY Plattsburgh's Collections - The title is a quote by poet Yusef Komunyakaa, reflecting on his writing practice upon his visit to SUNY Plattsburgh in 1995. Works on display include artwork from the Plattsburgh State Art Museum and ephemera from Feinberg Library Special Collections that highlight notable Black artists, writers, and musicians.
This event is one in a series of events for Underground Railroad's Colors of Freedom in the Adirondacks Juneteenth 2025 Celebration. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THESE EVENTS.
