Dozens of SUNY Plattsburgh Gospel Choir alumni, will join SUNY Plattsburgh’s Gospel Choir for its “Coral” Anniversary Celebration at this year’s GospelFest on Saturday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium. The concert is part of a three-day event that marks the choir’s 35th anniversary and, according to its artistic director, Dr. Dexter L. Criss, promises “to be special as past members, musicians, and friends join to celebrate their love for the choir, college, community, and gospel music.”
The weekend kicks off with a Social Mixer on Friday, April 24, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Flynt Commons, Angell College Center. The celebration continues with a Scholarship and Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 25, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Adirondack Room at the Butcher Block Steak House, hosted by SUNY Plattsburgh’s DEI/AA officer Michael Thompson, with musical selections by the Gospel Choir’s Alumni Praise Team.
This is followed by the highly-anticipated GospelFEST 2026 slated for Saturday evening, April 25, starting at 7:00 p.m. in Giltz Auditorium at Hawkins Hall, hosted by Dr. Rosite George-Delgado ’05, featuring the Coral Reunion Alumni Choir.
